| Abstract: | N-alkylation of amide, imide, and lactams in solid-liquid phase
transfer catalysis using PEG-400 as catalyst in the presence of potassium hydro-
xide or carbonate afforded various N-alky1ated products in good yields. This econom-
ic method has the advantages of mild reaction condition and convenient work-up. |
