Abstract:Objective: To investigate the effect of resveratrol on triglyceride accumulation in HepG2 cells induced by sodium palmitate. Methods: The cell model of steatosis was established using sodium palmitate in HepG2 cells. The experiments were divided into control, resveratrol, high fat, high fat + resveratrol groups. The amount of triglyceride in HepG2 cells was quantitatively analyzed by oil red O staining method. Results: The sodium palmitate(0.2 mmoL)resulted in significantly steatosis in HepG2 cells, the resveratrol(40 μmoL)inhibited the effect of sodium palmitate, and reduced the fat amount nearly to the basal level. Conclusion: Resveratrol is able to ameliorate the excessive triglyceride accumulation in HepG2 cells induced by sodium palmitate.
Keywords:HepG2 cell  steatosis  sodium palmitate  resveratrol
