| Abstract: | Since April 1984,19 cases of massive tissue defect in the hand have been treated with non-anastomosis forearm island flap retrograde grafting. All were successful.This procedure,using no anastomosis,simple to do and highly reliable, is a great technical advance in recent years. It may be the first choice for repairing injuries or contractures of the thumb web and can be useful for other hand surgeries. In comparison with other methods of grafting,it is much easier and simpler and the results are more satisfactory. The key to success of this procedure lies in the existence of normal intact radial and ulnar arteries. |
