Abstract: | A simple gradient centrifuging method that separates epithelial cells from suspensions of material obtained by conventional cervical sampling procedures, is described. Heterogeneous cell suspensions were disaggregated by syringing and placed on a discontinuous density gradient. Following centrifugation up to 5 bands of, cells could be collected. The three central bands of epithelial cells corresponded to a density range between 1.035g/ml and 1.055g/ml. The cell samples so obtained are suitable for biochemical, cytochemical and immunocytochemical investigations. |
