Meta-analysis of the relationship between CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype and vinca alkaloids-induced peripheral neuropathy

Objective To assess the relationship between CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype and vinca alkaloids-induced peripheral neuropathy.Methods By searching the Pubmed,Embase,Cochrane Library,CNKI,Wanfang,Vip and CBM for clinical trials were used to analyze the results for addressing CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype and vinca alkaloids-induced peripheral neuropathy from January 2000 to January 2020.RevMan 5.3 was used for the statistical analysis.Results A total of 6 articles(7 central studies)were included in the study.Meta-analysis showed that CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype was significantly correlated with the occurrence of vinca alkaloids-related peripheral neuropathy(OR=2.97,95%CI 1.97-4.47,P<0.00001).The subgroup analysis found that CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype was associated with the occurrence of vinca alkaloids-related peripheral neurotoxicity during continuation phase in both of adult and pediatric ALL patients(OR=2.87,95%CI 1.67-4.94,P=0.004).It is worth noting that the CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype was significantly associated with peripheral neurotoxicity in the prospective study design(OR=4.59,95%CI 2.63-8.01,P<0.00001).However,there was no statistical difference in retrospective studies(OR=1.46,95%CI 0.85-2.52,P=0.17).Conclusions Current study indicates that the CEP72 rs924607 TT genotype is a risk factor for the occurrence of vinca alkaloids-induced peripheral neuropathy.Given intrinsic restrictions of included studies,more RCTs are warranted to confirm and update the findings of this study.
