Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical effect of simple puncture positioning method in percutaneous endoscopic transforaminal discectomy(PETD). Methods The data of 230 patients with single-segment lumbar disc herniation treated by PETD from January 2018 to December 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. Among them,104 cases were punctured and located with traditional method(control group),and 126 with simple method(observation group). The times of fluoroscopy,the puncture time and the puncture-associated complications were observed. Oswestry disability index(ODI) and visual analogue scale(VAS) scores were compared between pre-operation and the final follow-up to evaluate the effect of operation. Results Among 104 patients in the control group,96(92.3%) were successfully punctured once and 8(7.7%) need twice;of the 126 patients in observation group,122(96.8%) were successfully punctured once and 4(3.2%) need twice. There was no significant difference in one-time puncture success rate between the 2 groups(P>0.05). The times of fluoroscopy in the observation group was less than that in the control group,and the puncture time was shorter than that in the control group,all with a statistical significance(P<0.05). At the final follow-up,ODI and VAS scores were significantly improved in both groups,all with a statistical significance(P<0.05);there was no significant difference between the 2 groups(P>0.05). Conclusion Using the simple puncture positioning method in PETD can not only ensure the surgical outcome,but also reduce the times of fluoroscopy and shorten the puncture time.
