The Observation about Effects of Different Surgical Methods on Clinical Symptoms and Sleep Quality in Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Nocturia Patients

Objective:To explore the effects of different surgical methods on clinical symptoms and sleep quality in benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)and nocturia patients.Methods:A total of 60 patients with BPH and nocturia who were admitted to Suqian People′s Hospital from February 2018 to January 2020 was enrolled.They were divided into observation group(30 cases)and control group(30 cases)by random number table method.The observation group was treated with photoselective vaporization of the prostate(PVP),while control group was treated with transurethral resection of the prostate(TURP).The surgical situations,international prostate symptom score(IPSS),quality of life(QOL)and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI)scores were compared between the two groups.Results:The operation time,intraoperative blood loss,length of stay and frequency of postoperative nocturia in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).After surgery,IPSS and QOL scores in both groups were decreased.And those in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).At the 3rd,6th and 9th months after surgery,PSQI scores in observation group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:PVP treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia with nocturia has better effect on the improvement of clinical symptoms and sleep quality.
