Effecting factors and their optimization on expression of recombinant proteins by Pichia pastoris expression system

Pichia pastoris is an excellent recombinant protein expression system which is extensively applied recently. This article mainly discusses the environmental factors such as the induction temperature, the concentration of methanol, dissolved oxygen, nitrogen concentra-tion, and induction pH, which play an important role in affecting the yield and biological activity of the recombinant protein. The optimi-zation of the techniques used in the fermentation process and the fe-rmentation strategy of Pichia pastoris are also reviewed.
