| Abstract: | Objective:To assess the safety and surgical opportunity of laparoscopic cholecystectomy(LC) in patients aged over 80 years.Methods:The clinical data of 63 patients aged over 80 years who underwent LC were analyzed retrospectively.Results:The 63 cases accounted 0.76%(63/8 270) of the total LC group,the average age was 83.7 years old.Twenty-six cases were emergency surgery,2 cases(3.2%) were converted to open surgery,7 cases(11.1%) occurred postoperative complications,no deaths happened in the 63 cases.Conclusions:LC for patients aged over 80 years is safe and feasible,however,perioperative management should be actively,the timing of surgery and operating skills are also important. |
