Investigation on Harvesting,Processing,Storage,and Packaging of Taraxaci Herba

Objective:To investigate the current situation about harvesting,processing,storage,and packaging of Taraxaci Herba,evaluate the quality based on the amount of active ingredients,to understand the multiple postpartum links of Taraxaci Herba,and provide basis for standardized production.Methods:Combined with literature reviews,the factors which might affect the quality of Taraxaci Herba were analyzed comprehensively in several producing areas and medicinal markets.Results:The current situation and existing problems about harvesting,processing,storage,and packaging of Taraxaci Herba were summarized.The quality of Taraxaci Herba was evaluated on the basis of comparing the amount of active ingredients.The contents of chlorogenic acid,caffeic acid,polysaccharides,flavonoids,total saponins,and other effective ingredients are generally higher during the blooming period of Taraxaci Herba.Conclusion:Taraxaci Herba is mainly cultivated artificially,and the harvesting time has a great influence on the quality of Taraxaci Herba.When the market demand of Taraxaci Herba is large,we should not neglect the quality.In order to control and improve the quality of Taraxaci Herba,it is necessary to construct the whole quality control system from the above-mentioned links,and formulate the post harvest standard operating procedures.
