Abstract: | Flushing can occur as a physiological response or may indicate an underlying condition, such as carcinoid syndrome, mastocytosis or rosacea. The mechanisms and causes of flushing are discussed. Learning objective At the conclusion of this learning activity, participants should be able to describe the pathogenesis and clinical characteristics of flushing and should be aware of the modalities to diagnose and treat this common dermatological sign. |
