Abstract: | A case of tumour of the carotid glomus associated with diffuse cystic colloid struma of the thyroid is examined. Classification, symptomatological, diagnostic and therapeutic problems are reassessed on the basis of the case in question and the literature. Stress is laid on the importance of carotidography as a decisive examination for preoperative diagnosis of the nature of the case. Some basic problems of surgical treatment are examined and the operating techniques that have proved most valid are proposed. |
