Effect of Jintiange capsule combined with salmon calcitonin injection on bone metabolism and bone mineral density in elderly patients with osteoporosis

Objective To analyze the effect of Jintiange capsule combined with salmon calcitonin injection on bone metabolism and bone mineral density(BMD)in elderly patients with osteoporosis.Methods A total of 80 elderly patients with osteoporosis admitted to our hospital from September 2018 to September 2019 were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group was treated with salmon calcitonin injection and oral risedronate sodium tablets,and on this basis,the observation group was treated with Jintiange capsule for 3 months.Bone metabolism (β-CTX),tartrate resistant acid phosphatase(TRACP),bone alkaline phosphatase(BNALP),osteocalcin(BGP) and 25-(OH) D] and BMD were measured and compared between the two groups.Results After the treatment in the observation group,The levels ofβ-CTX,TRACP,BGP,25-(OH)D and BNALP were(0.35±0.06)ug L^-1,(1.19±0.15)u L^-1,(12.03±2.68)ug L^-1,(36.88±4.35)ng ml-1,and(13.36±3.25)ng ml-1 respectively,and in the control group,the levels of those were(0.59±0.07)ug L^-1,(2.76±0.18)u L^-1,(9.36±1.68)ug L^-1,(31.43±4.27)ng mL^-1,and(16.54±3.28)ng mL^-1 respectively,andβ-CTX,TRACP and BNALP in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,but BGP and 25-(OH)D were higher than those in the control group(t=16.464,42.378,5.339,5.655 and 4.493,all P<0.001).After the treatment,the BMD levels of lumbar spine,femoral neck and femoral trochanter in the observation group were gm² respectively,and those in the control group were (0.97±0.10),(0.88±0.07),and(0.94±0.09)] g cm;respectively,and those in the control group were (0.76±0.08),(0.69±0.09),and(0.83±0.07)] gm² respectively,and the BMD levels of lumbar spine,femoral neck and femoral trochanter in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group(t=10.372,10.539,6.102,all P<0.001).Conclusion Jintiange capsule combined with salmon calcitonin injection can improve the level of bone metabolism and BMD in the elderly patients with osteoporosis.
