Application of dexmedetomidine combined with bupivacaine in hip arthroplasty

Objective To explore the application value of dexmedetomidine combined with bupivacaine in hip arthroplasty. Methods From September 2017 to October 2019, 120 patients who underwent hip replacement in our hospital were divided into a control group and an experimental group with 60 in each group according to the random number table. The control group was anesthetized with bupivacaine, and the experimental group was anesthetized with dexmedetomidine on the basis of the control group. The effects of anesthesia block and hemodynamic indexes at different time points were compared between the two groups. Results The sensory plane fixation time and motor block maintenance time of the experimental group were (22.81±2.76) min and (306.59±80.22) min respectively, which were longer than those of the control group, and the recovery time of motor block of the experimental group was (3.21±0.68) min, which was shorter than that of the control group (P<0.001). HR at T0, T1, T2 and T3 were (72.31±2.34), (72.16±3.11), (72.56±2.88), and (71.43±2.56) times/min, and MAP were (91.26±4.53), (89.73±4.38), (89.31±3.14) and (89.23±2.54) mm of the experimental group respectively, and HR were (73.04±2.47), (77.54±3.06), (73.87±3.14), and (66.87±2.39) times/min and MAP were (91.34±4.29), (90.34±4.37), (82.26±2.47) and (76.36±2.34) mm respectively of the control group, and at T0, T1, T2 and T3, MAP of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group (t=11.730, 28.866, both P<0.05), and HR at T1 and T2 of the experimental group were lower than those of the control group, while HR at T3 of the experimental group was higher than that of control group (t=9.551, 2.382, 10.085, all P<0.05). Conclusion The application of bupivacaine combined with dexmedetomidine for lumbar anesthesia in hip arthroplasty can prolong anesthesia time and reduce hemodynamic fluctuation.
