Abstract:Objective To understand the current situation of environment and health literacy of secondary vocational school students in Zhaoqing City, and to evaluate the effect of intervention on environment and health literacy of the students. Methods The students were selected by the cluster sampling method, and they were randomly divided into an intervention group and a control group. The intervention group was given online intervention measures, while the control group was not given the intervention measures. The environmental and health literacy levels of the two groups were compared before and after the intervention. Results The overall level of environment and health literacy of the secondary vocational school students was 10.85% (low level), in which the basic concept, basic knowledge, and basic skills were 29.15%, 8.47% and 33.90%, respectively. After the intervention, in the intervention group, the overall level of the environment and health literacy was 44.4%, which was higher than that before the intervention (10.49%), and there was a significance (χ2=44.46, P<0.01). The basic concept level of environment and health literacy was 50.69%, which was higher than 20.28% before the intervention (χ2=28.97, P<0.01), the basic knowledge level of environment and health literacy was 31.25%, higher than 6.99% before the intervention (χ2=27.25, P<0.01), and the basic skill level of environment and health literacy was 56.25%, higher than 25.25% before the intervention (χ2=27.34, P<0.01). Conclusion The level of environment and health literacy of the secondary vocational school students is low. After the intervention, it can effectively improve the level of environment and health literacy of the students.
