Research on application of Fangshuren (house-tree-person) test in mental health survey of primary school students

Objective To explore the application effect of mental health test (MHT) combined with Fangshuren (house-tree-person, HTP) test in mental health survey of primary school students. Methods Ten primary schools were selected by the random number table method from all primary schools in towns, streets and urban areas of Dongguan City, and a total of 2 838 students from a class of each school were selected by the cluster stratified sampling method. The investigation was conducted by combining the MHT with HTP test. Results Among the three dimensions of HTP test, 481 (17%) were prone to anxiety, 352 (12.4%) were prone to depression, and 42 (1.5%) had problems in the three dimensions with higher total score. The eight correlation coefficients between HTP test and standardized MHT were 0.041, and there was a significant correlation (P<0.05). Through the comparison of Alpha reliability values, it was found that the reliability values of HTP test and MHT in the psychological assessment of primary school students were also between 0-1, and the analysis results of the two had a high credibility. Conclusion HTP test has high credibility for the psychological assessment in primary school students. HTP test provides a new idea for the clinical assessment and diagnosis of primary school students' mental health, and provides the operability for the mental health testing group.
