| Abstract: | A series of 50 patients with lung carcinoma were studied to evaluate the clinical and immune effects of specific transfer factor (SPTF).The SPTF group (n=35) received both chemotherapy and SPTP treatment,which was administered by intramuscular injection 2ml (2 unit) twice a week for 4 weeks.The control group (n=15) received only chemotherapy.During the treatment the sideeffects of chemotherapy in the SPTF group were significantly lower than that of the control group.Peripheral blood T-lymphocyte subsets were determined by OKT McAb.There were significant differences in OKT4,OKT8,OKT4/OKT8 ratio before and after the administration of SPTF (P<0.001).There were no differences in the control group.The results of the study suggest that the specific immunothe-rapy by means of SPTF can increase the immune competence of patients with lung cancer.SPTF has been proved to have antigen-specific activities,without side effects. |
