Abstract: | The value of agyrophilic nucleolar organizer region (AgNOR) stain as potential technique for the estimation of cell kinetics was assessed in this study. The daily AgNOR counts and the scores of the proliferation-associated marker bromodeoxyuridine (BrdU) in a human ovarian carcinoma cell line-OCC1 for 10 days after subculture were determined. The correlation between AgNOR counts and BrdU incorporation scores was highly significant (r = 0.86, P less than 0.01). Therefore AgNOR counts offer a potential tool to provide cytokinetic information. |
