| Abstract: | Lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) activity in the cardiac muscle and the liver of mice fed with bee pollen for six weeks was determined with colorimetric methods. The results show that the activity of LDH is increased more than that before feeding LDH isoenzyme. By further analying LDH isoenzyme spectrum with electrophoreses and optical density scanning, the results obtained indicate that LDH1-3 in the cardiac muscle is obviously increased, but LDH4-5 decreased and LDH6 in the liver markedly increased. It suggests that bee pollen can strengthen the functions of the cardiac muscle and the liver. |
