Abstract: | The therapy of acute bacterial meningitis is changing rapidly because of the introduction of new antimicrobial agents and new techniques of vital function support. Proper spinal fluid examination, anticonvulsant drug administration, management of increased intracranial pressure, and correct choice of antibiotics are essential to achieve optimal therapy. |
