| Abstract: | The future medical staffing for the NHS needs to take account of the demands of doctors for a humane lifestyle and the service demands of all groups of patients. The increasing numbers of female practitioners and the reduction in hours required by new legislation will be important influences. Suggestions are made about possible future working patterns. |
