Abstract:NMDA(N-methyl-D-aspartate)receptor plays an important role in the death of excitatory neurons caused by ischemic stroke,but NMDA blockers have not achieved ideal results in clinical practice.Related studies have shown that different subunits of NMDAR,as well as many specific effectors downstream of the receptor,play an important role in the survival and death of neurons.In this review,we summarize the latest research progress in these fields,and focus on the downstream signal pathway of NMDAR,so as to provide a more promising treatment for stroke.
