Abstract:Cochlear nerve deficiency(CND)is one of the causes of congenital profound hearing loss,referring to an absent or small cochlear nerve.The diagnosis of CND mainly relies on 3D-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging of the cochlear nerve,which is not always clearly visible due to technical limitations.Compared with non-CND patients,patients with CND can have poor outcomes after receiving cochlear implants,and some may not benefit from cochlear implants at all.Therefore,it is very important to improve preoperative diagnosis of CND and accurate imaging diagnosis of CND is a research hotspot in recent years.This article mainly summarizes imaging indicators that can assist in the diagnosis of CND,and reviews their values in predicting cochlear implants outcomes by existing studies.
