The patents of 3D printing technology in medical apparatus in China

Objective： Evaluating the tendency and major technical field of the application of three dimensional printing technology in Chinese medical apparatus. Methods：Investigating the application of Three dimensional printing technology in medical apparatus by analyzing the patent data. Result： The applications of three dimensional printing technology in medical apparatus rapidly increase recently. Most patents are applied by domestic applicant. The major application areas include implant, tissue engineering scaffold, artificial tissues and organs, drug delivery system and surgery assistant appliance. Conclusion：The three dimensional printing technology in medical apparatus is developing rapidly. Most of the techniques are owned by universities and research institutes. The implant and tissue engineering scaffolds are the major application fields.
