Change and significance of neutrophil elastase and high sensitive C-reactive protein in patients with impaired fasting glucose and acute coronary syndrome

Objective： To explore change and significance of neutrophil elastase（NE）,high sensitive C-reactive protein（hs-CRP） in patients with impaired fasting glucose（IFG） and acute coronary syndrome（ACS）.Methods： Fasting glucose and oral glucose tolerance were determined in 63 ACS patients,and patients were divided into ACS-IFG group（Group A）（27 cases） and ACS group（Group B）（36 cases）.Another 30 cases with normal coronary arteriongraphy and without IFG were selected as control group（Group C）.Besides physical examination and conventional lab tests,NE and hs-CRP were determined.Results： Levels of NE and hs-CRP were significantly higher in Group A and B than in Group C,and it was more significant in Group A（P〈0.005）.NE was positively correlated to hs-CRP（r=0.671,P〈0.001）.Conclusions： ACS patients complicated with IFG have more severe general inflammation.Comprehensive intervention should be carried out to improve the prognosis.
