Research advances on the pathogenesis of primary open angle glaucoma

Primary open angle glaucoma is the second leading cause of blindness in the world, and more researches have been carried out on its pathogenesis. This paper summarized the research of mechanical theory, vascular theory, mechanism of cerebrospinal fluid pressure reduction, gene research, immune mechanism and mitochondrial dynamics theory, involving with various risk factors of the disease, in order to provide some information as references for ophthalmologists.
