Application of Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope in trachea cannula in patients with OSAHS receiving uvulopalatopharyngoplasty

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the clinical value of Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope in trachea cannula in patients with OSAHS receiving uvulopalatopha ryngoplasty under general anaesthesia.METHODS Fifty-three patients with OSAHS including 50 males and 3 females were evaluated.Their ASA gradings wereⅠ～Ⅱ.Transnasal tracheal intubation was used.After induction,the patient＇s glottis was exposed by Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope and Macintosh laryngoscope. The Cormack-Lehane grade of laryngeal view was recorded respectively.Patient was intubated using the Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope.Parameters were recorded,including age,sex,height,weight,Mallampati oropharyngeal scale,thyromental distance,mouth opening,apnea and hypopnea index,BMI,Cormack-Lehane grade,difficulty of laryngeal exposure and complication of intubation.RESULTS There was a positive correlation（r=0.765、0.553,P0.01） between Mallampati oropharyngeal grade and the C/L grade of laryngeal view with two types of laryngoscope.The Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope achieved a better laryngeal view than Macintosh laryngoscope.There were no complications such as mucomembranous injury of otopharynx,hoarse voice,and so on.CONCLUSION Compared with Macintosh laryngoscope,Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope yielded a comparable or superior laryngeal view,decreased the intubation difficulty and reduced the incidence of injury.The new Truview^TMEVO2 optic laryngoscope may have advantages in managing the difficult airway.
