Dual-Wavelength Spectrophotometrie Determination of Econazole Ointment

Econazole has a larger absorption but the ointment base has less absorption in ultraviolet region. Interference of base absorption in econazole contained in the ointment can be eliminated with a dual-wavelength spectrophotometry and therefore content of econazole ointment could be determined. Compared with a nitrogen determination, this method was more simple and rapid. The recovery is 99.8% (CV 0.39%).
