Abstract:Summary The effect of muscle work on the gastric and duodenal motor function was studied in dogs.It was observed that the static stress inhibited the ldquohungerrdquo contractions of the stomach and duodenum; the inhibitory effect disappeared as the stress ceased. The static muscle work effect was more pronounced in ldquohungerrdquo contractions of the stomach than in those of the duodenum. Under the influence of static stress, the periodic ldquohungerrdquo contractions of the stomach varied more extensively than its ldquoacidrdquo and digestive contractions.Presented by Active Member Acad.
