Abstract:Objective To study the relationship betwee n the rhIL-6 and the tumor growth and lung metastasis of the mouse bladder carc i noma BTT739. Methods After inoculation with the BTT739 tu mor cells, the mice were randomly divided into 4 groups and intraperitoneal inje ction was performed: group A was injected with rhIL-6 at a dose of 4×106 IU/ kg every day for 20 times within 20 days, group B with Mitomycin at a dose of 1 mg/kg per day for 14 times within 20 days and group C with combination of rhIL- 6 and mitomycin at dosage shown in groups A and B, and group D was injected with normal saline as control. At the end of the experiment, the growth of the tumor and the lung metastasis of the mouse were observed. Results The inhibitory rate of the tumor growth of the BT T739 mice by rhIL-6 was 35.1% (P<0.05) and the inhibitory rate of the lung metastasis of the BTT739 mice by rhIL-6 was 61.3 %(P<0.05); and the inhib i tory rate of tumor growth and lung metastasis of the combination therapy were 81 .6 % and 91.1 % respectively (P<0.05). Conclusion rhIL-6 could directly inhibit the tumor grow th and the lung metastasis of the mouse bladder carcinoma BTT739.
