An investigation on lifestyle and cognition of hypertensive knowledge among patients with hypertension in Wuhan region

摘    要:Objective To investigate lifestyle and cogni- tive level associated with hypertension for purpose of health education program and medical intervention among hyper- tensive patients. Methods:1027 patients with hypertension from 8 hos- pitals of Wuhan region were received questionnaire survey for lifestyle and cognition of hypertensive knowledge dur- ing January 2001 to March 2003. Results:Patients who had psychological disadvantage tended to have a higher morbidity of hypertension,espe- cially in high-educated group(P<0.01).Low-educated group tended to do less physical exercise and were easier to be- come cigarette smoker and alcohol drinker than that in high-educated group (P<0.01,P<0.05).The awareness of hypertension control and complication prevention was com- monly faint in the investigated subjects,19.7% and 7.9% respectively.Conclusion:There is a prevalence of unhealthy life habits and poor cognition of hypertensive knowledge among hypertensive patients;it is urge to conduct health education and medical intervention for the patients.
