论麻杏石甘汤证无表证

仲景麻黄与石膏同用,若要保留方中解表功能,一是麻黄用量大于石膏用量(可因表证轻重配伍辛温解表之品);二是在麻黄用量小于(或等于)石膏用量时,必定配伍辛温解表之品,或是解表之方(如桂枝汤等)。麻杏石甘汤中麻黄虽用4两,生石膏则用至半斤,麻黄与石膏之比是1∶2。此时,由于方中石膏用量大于麻黄用量一倍,也无辛温解表之品,或是解表之方,则本方实无表证。

Maxing Shigan Decoction Syndrome Without Exterior Syndrome

Zhongjing used Mahuang and Shigao together.In order to remain the formula's function of relieving exterior syndrome,firstly,the dosage of Mahuang should be larger than that of Shigao(drugs pungent in flavor and warm in property are applied to relieve the exterior syndrome in accordance with the degree of exterior syndrome);secondly,when the dosage of Mahuang is smaller than(or equal to) that of Shigao,drugs pungent in flavor and warm in property must be used to relieve the exterior syndrome,or formulas used to relieve exterior syndrome(e.g.Guizhi Decoction etc.).Though in formula of Maxing Shigao Decoction,the dosage of Mahuang is 200 g,the dosage of Shigao is 400 g, the proportion of Mahuang to Shigao is one to two.At this time,because the dosage of Shigao is twice more than that of Mahuang and without drugs relieving the exterior syndrome or the formulas relieving exterior sydrome in this formula,the formula indeed has no exterior syndrome.
