Abstract: | Peripheral blood lymphocytes from a patient (EP) with lymphosarcoma cell leukaemia reported previously, had been found capable of forming sheep erythrocyte rosettes, reacting with T cell-specific antiserum and carrying surface immunoglobulins (Ig), IgM and IgD. It was suggested that the surface Ig were generated by leukaemic T cells due to activation of genes controlling synthesis of surface Ig. We here present evidence that these lymphocytes also carry complement receptors of B cells as detected by bovine erythrocyte–anti-bovine serum–complement complexes and by complement-coated zymosan. This study firmly establishes the presence of dual surface markers for T and B cells on the same leukaemic lymphocytes. |
