Abstract: | The obesity is the second most frequent cause of death which can be prevented. It elevates the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes mellitus type 2, cancers and premature mortality. Overweight and obesity responsible for 14% of cancer caused death in males, and 20% in females, respectively. Authors review the connection between obesity, metabolic syndrome and related metabolic alterations with colorectal cancers. They summarize the role of inflammation, hyperinsulinemia, insulin-like growth factor-I and adipokines in the colorectal carcinogenesis. |
