| Abstract: | Healthcare policymakers in many countries seek to use economic incentives to spur quality improvement.Howev- er,strong incentives may promote quality-distortion selection,as insurers and healthcare providers financially benefit from avoi- ding costly and unprofitable patients.This paper introduces an economic model developed by Karen Eggleston,which simulates and analyzes how payment incentives make an influence on healthcare quality. |
