STUDY ON IMMUNITY STATUS OF ROTAVIRUS ENTERITIS

Objective To explore the immune status of rotavirus （RV） enteritis. Methods The stool and blood specimens at acute or convalescence stage collected from 50 infants with RV enteritis and healthy children as control were measured for the level of SIgA and blood cytokines （ IL - 1β, IL - 6, TNF -α）. Results The slgA level of the stool specimens collected from infants in convalescence of RV enteritis was significantly higher than that of acute stage and reduced more obviously in serious RV enteritis than in that of light or medium ones（ P 〈 0.05 ）. The IL - 1 β, IL - 6 and TNF -α in the blood were increased significantly in RV enteritis group compared with the controls（ P 〈 0.05 ）. Conclusion The level o sIgA in intestine is reduced when infected with RV. Because of dis- turbance of cytokines secretion, the protective neutralizing effect against RV infection is reduced as well.
