Clinical Study on Compound Glycyrrhizin Capsules Combined with Routine WesternMedicine for Children with Atopic Eczema

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and safety of compound glycyrrhizin capsules combined with routine western medicine for children with atopic eczema. Methods:A total of 90 cases of children with atopic eczema with spleen deficiency with dampness encumbrance syndrome were divided into the observation group and the control group according to random number table method,45 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with loratadine tablets and mometasone furoate cream, as well as basic treatment measures such as emollients, health education, and bathing guidance. The observation group was additionally treated with compound glycyrrhizin capsules. Both groups were treated for three months. Before treatment and after three-month treatment,the scores of Scoring Atopicdermatitis(SCORAD),Children’s Dermatology Life Quality Index(CDLQI),and Investigator’s Global Assessment(IGA) were evaluated;the blood routine,the liver function, the kidney function, and electrocardiogram were monitored. During treatment, the incidence of adverse reactions was recorded. The clinical effect was compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, the clinical effect in the observation group was better than that in the control group(P<0.05). The area and severity degree of skin lesions,the scores of itch and insomnia,as well as the total scores in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01);each score and the total score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). The scores of CDLQI and IGA in the two groups were decreased when compared with those before treatment(P<0.01),and the two scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.01). There was no severe adverse reaction happened in the two groups during observation period. Conclusion:The therapy of compound glycyrrhizin capsules combined with routine western medicine has significant clinical effect in treating children with atopic eczema,which can further relieve their clinical symptoms and improve life quality.
