Abstract: | Much nonspecific activity in enzyme immunoassay is due to reactions between anti-bovine antibodies which are commonly present in human serum samples and residual calf serum in viral antigens. Calf serum is used in cultured cells which are used to produce viral antigens. Addition of bovine proteins to serum samples to be tested for viral antibodies reduces this activity. |
