Comparison of Clinical Therapeutic Effect Between Laparoscopic Conservative Surgery and Uterine Arterial Embolization in the Treatment of Adenomyosis

Objective：To compare the clinical therapeutic effect between laparoscopic conservative surgery and uterine arterial embolization（UAE） for endometriosis.Methods： Laparoscopic conservative surgery was performed in 42 patients with adenomyosis,and UAE procedures were performed in 45 cases.The clinical symptoms,uterine volume,serum CA125,follicle-stimulating hormone（FSH）,luteinizing hormone（LH）,and estradiol（E2） were observed after one,three,six and 12 months after treatment respectively.Results： After laparoscopic conservative surgery and UAE,clinical symptoms were relieved in all cases respectively（p0.05）;the volume of uterine and lesions,and the level of serum CA125 were obviously reduced.There was no significant effect on ovarian endocrine function（p0.05）.Conclusions： Laparoscopic conservative surgery and UAE are effective and safe methods in the treatment of adenomyosis,but UAE is more suitable for patients who have fertility requirements retaining the uterus.
