| Abstract: | The use of multiplane transesophageal echocardiography has provided three-dimensional image sets of the heart from multiple two-dimensional images with high-image quality through rotation of the transducer without changing its position (rotational scanning). We discuss the methods, clinical applications, and current limitations of this three-dimensional technique. |
