Application of special nursing model in the prevention and nursing of venous thromboembolism in hospital

Objective To explore the role of specific nursing team for the prevention of venous thromboembolism (VTE) in hospital. Methods The team of VTE specific nursing was established. Training, examination, quality control and sensitive index monitoring for VTE preventive nursing in the whole hospital were performed after defining the responsibilities of the team. The implementation rate of basic preventive measures, risk assessment rate, theory and operation qualification rate of VTE before and after the implementation were compared. Results After the establishment of specialized nursing team, the implementation rate of basic preventive measures, risk assessment rate, theory and operation qualification rate of VTE were significantly increased. Conclusions The application of VTE special nursing group is helpful to optimize the nursing work mode, implement the basic preventive measures of VTE, promote the development of VTE preventive nursing work in hospital effectively, which improves the quality of nursing work.
