Analysis of contents of NT,CGRP and NPY in the blood plasma of 98 patients with Acute Cerebrovascular Disease

Aim:To determine the contents of three plasmic neuropeptides in patients with acute cerebrovascular diseases,and analyse the relationship between the level of each neuropeptide and occurrence of the diseases.Methods:Radioactivity immunoassay was used to determine the content of plasmic Neurotensin (NT),calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP), and Neuropeptide Y (NPY) in 98 patients with acute cerebrovascular diseases and in 37 normal adults.Results:The results showed that the level of CGRP in the group of cerebral infarction was marked lower than that in the group of cerebral hemorrhage ( P <0.05) and that in the group of normal adult ( P <0.01).The level of NPY in the group of cerebral hemorrhage was marked higher than that in the control group of normal adult ( P <0.01).Conclusions:It suggest that there may exist a relation between change of content of CGRP or NPY and occurrence of acute cerebrovascular disease.
