Comparison of the analgesic effect of parecoxib and flurbiprofen in the postoperative pain after anal and rectal surgery

Objective To compare the analgesic effect of parecoxib and flurbiprofen in the postoperative pain after anal and rectal surgery. Method Forty patients undergoing anal and rectal surgery were randomly divided into two groups. The patients were administered intravenously parecoxib sodium（group A,n =20） or flurbiprofen（group B,n=20） at 20 minutes before the end of the opera- tion in parecoxib group and in the flurbiprofen group respectively. Visual analog scale（VAS）and adverse reactions after the operation were recorded. Results The VAS in group A was lower than that in group B（P~0.05）, the adverse reactions were obvious in group B. Conclusion Both pare- coxib and flurbiprofen can effectively offer analgesia for patients after anal or rectal surgery, but parecoxib is better and less adverse reactions.
