Factors associated with initial and long-term outcome after transsphenoidal pituitary surgery in the treatment of Cushing's disease include tumor classification,surgical findings,histological findings,postoperative cortisol values,postoperative ACTH values,etc.Although certain biochemical patterns are more suggestive of remission or surgical failure,none has been proven to be completely accurate.Patients after surgery should have long-term monitoring.This article focuses on the factors associated with initial and long-term outcome after transsphenoidal pituitary surgery in the treatment of Cushing's disease.
