| Abstract: | A case of heterotopic liver of the jejunum confirmed by electron microscopy in a 2-year-old girl is described. We review the literature regarding heterotopic liver and discuss its embryogenesis. We suggest that in our case, there was trapping of hepatocyte-destined mesenchyme prior to biliary tree development. |
