Abstract: | Fluid-attenuated inversion recovery (FLAIR) imaging is a technique that increases the sensitivity of magnetic resonance imaging to detect central nervous system (CNS) diseases characterized by an increase in interstitial water content such as brain tumors, cerebral infarcts, and gliotic scars. A role for this technique in subarchnoid disease processes such as hemorrhage and epidermoid tumor is also being revealed. |
