Comparison of Different Routes of Heart Regeneration Therapy

Despite recent improvements in the treatments of coronary artery disease,there are a considerable number of patients who cannot receive complete revascularization because of severe arterial disease.Gene therapy and cell-based therapy have been applied to myocardiovascular regeneration and the establishment of coronary artery collateral circulation.Gene therapy and cell-based therapy can be carried out through different routes,many of which have been tested in animals.This article reviews the characteristics of various routes in heart regeneration therapy,and the difference in the therapeutic effects of the various routes.
