| Abstract: | The practice of medicine in rural Arizona has changed remarkably in 25 years. Although the delivery of care to the people of the San Carlos Apache Tribe has many challenges including geographic isolation and cultural differences, there are many rewards, such as knowing that some people would not receive care if the orthopaedic surgeon was not there to provide it. |
