本文对高等医学教育中制约高素质医学人才培养的因素进行了分析。认为现行的医学招生制度、培养模式、教学方法、招生思想及临床教师的现状等均不利于培养高素质医学人才；进而对21世纪高素质医学人才培养问题进行了思索，认为应该更新观念，强化世纪意识；调整和改革医学院校的设置形式；构建新的课程体系、教学内容和人才培养模式；加强医学生自学能力的培养；建立具有国际竞争力的教师队伍。
