presented were abut:the pharmacomedical personnel and their work in the fleet;the living and
hygienic conditions of the fleet; and the depletion of numbers due to illnesses on ship of the fleet.
Remarks were made of the lack of scurvy incident in contrast to those with scurvy epi-demics in
western fleets at that same period of years and some of the reasons were supposed.Of which one
is the teaarinking habit might have helped the prevention of scurvy due to the high content of
vita-min C in the tea. |
